19×19 CS Rotation Resistant Compacted Strand Wire Rope

Main hoist rope for smaller electric hoists or overhead cranes where some rotation resistant properties are required. Runs smooth and due to compacted strands is wear resistant. Is much more flexible than it’s 19x7 cousin but has no better rotation resistance. Available imperial sizes are 1/2” and up.

Compacted strands provide improved abrasion resistance as compared with round wire types because of the greater wire and strand bearing surfaces contacting sheaves and drums.

With 19 strands of 19 wires in all sizes, 19x19 CS is very flexible and easy to handle.

Using the rope to it’s maximum fatigue life will cause the rope to deteriorate from the inside out. Sudden rope failures may be the result. There have been fatal and catastrophic accidents involving this rope construction because of undetected inner rope fatigue.

It is critical to inspect these ropes on a regular basis. Immediately remove such ropes if you detect a difference in diameter between the working section and the the part in front of the wedge socket or safety drum wraps.
