Button spelter sockets come in seemingly endless dimensions and configurations. Nearly every crane manufacturer is using a different type and sized button making the logistics impossible to keep every type of button for every type of manufacturer for every rope size available at any time.

Also, many crane users have adopted other ‘after market’ systems which use different hardware than the crane OEM.

We at Unirope designed a universal type of round Torpedo Button which can be configured to fit most “baskets” or “pouches” in the field.

These Torpedo Buttons are made 100% in our own in-house machine shop using highest quality tool steels which are heat treated and hardened to over 45RC to ensure durability and strength.

Unirope Torpedo Buttons comply to EN 13411-4 and, in addition, have been Fatigue Type Tested to 75,000 cycles.

Unirope is excited to announce the publication of our new 148 page Rigger’s Choice Chain Sling Catalogue which includes Wire Mesh Slings, RUD Lifting Points, Swivel Hoist Rings, and specialized and custom made carbon chain attachments.

We would also like to announce a major update to our online chain sling catalogue including technical and safety information, introducing our new and extremely customizable sling tagging system, updated load capacities in lbs and kgs with DF of 4:1 and 5:1, inspection routines, and relevant component part dimensions.

Our online and printed catalogues are now listing approximately 400 different chain sling configurations in sizes ranging from 7/32” to 1-1/4” diameter, single to 4 leg configurations, with shorteners, clutches, Crosby Eliminator Systems, in-line hooks, and self-locking, standard, and swivel hooks. Each of these configurations now comes with a unique part number to make it easier to specify the exact sling you require.

Most of our Grade 100 components are available up to 7/8” (22 mm) and sizes of 1” (26 mm) and 1-1/4” (32 mm) are available in Grade 80.
