Wire and Chain Mesh Slings – Overview
Metal Mesh Slings that Hold On. And On. And On.
Unirope’s metal wire and chain mesh slings offer certain specialized advantages over other types of slings, especially if the load is being handled is abrasive or sharp-edged, unstable, hot or corrosive.
But perhaps Unirope’s wire and chain mesh slings most important quality is its durability. They offer excellent resistance to abrasive loads and as a result offers unsurpassed longevity.
Metal Mesh
Choker and triangle fittings are joined to the metal mesh with stainless steel connector spirals. Using stainless steel connector spirals reduces the likelihood of failure at this point and assures complete flexibility between the fittings and the wire mesh.
Chain Mesh
Fittings for the chain mesh slings come in 2 styles:
SLIM fittings into which the chain links are inserted into slots and locked-in with a steel rod. This design is very easy to use with choker hitches and will not bind when pulling from under loads.
Standard fittings into which the chains are connected with regular chain connectors. This is an economical solution but not as easy to use in a choker hitch. Plus, the perpendicular chain connectors make the sling width much thicker and thus not as easy to pull out from under loads.
Everything a Sling’s supposed to be. And then some.
